I love to photograph flowers. They are so beautiful when in bloom. But their beauty is transitory. They only last for short periods of time and then are gone forever. Thus the camera can record for history their short time on earth.
They are also difficult to photograph. Usually I am using close up lenses when photographing flowers. These type of lenses have very shallow depth of fields, so one must find the exact focus point that shows the beauty of the flower. As you peel away from that point the sharpness of the image falls off. Some time you find that exact spot and other times you miss. When you miss, then the photograph is no good and has to be deleted. It is a lot easier to photograph landscape or beach scenes than it is a flower.
